Captain Jeff Brown -

Port Canaveral
If the weather will hold out December could be a good month for a lot of fish species. Should the water cool off, then some of them will be in close and easy to get to.
This is a great time for the wahoo to be in the east coast waters out of the port. Start looking in about 75 feet if there are some king fish around. Fast troll some plastics and you may find a few of the speedsters hanging out. Many anglers have caught wahoo trolling ballyhoo while fishing for kings and dolphin as well. Remember one of their favorite foods is kingfish. Speaking of kings, there will be plenty of them on all the local inshore reefs such as 8A and Pelican Flats.
The sailfish should be holding around 90 to 150 feet and will most likely be here for the better part of the month. There have been some good numbers in October for those that got out deep. Catch the weather right and you should be able to score on some nice holiday fish.
Please remember to thank those who serve in our stead. Many are away from home and will not be with their families for the holidays. Take a minute and say a prayer for those who are serving in the armed forces. They also have to pay for their calls home so find a place and donate a calling card, like a VFW post.
I received some good information today about the upcoming dolphin season. Apparently, folks in Puerto Rico are catching a lot of fish. Some have boated as many as 100 fish in a one day trip!!!! Charters in Miami are also catching a daily limit in just a few hours of fishing. This is all indicators of the season we may experience here in the central Florida area. I have some bookings already for may so if you are going this year, think early and get ready for FISH ON.

While out on your trip on the CopOut you will find the ride to be smooth and dry. CopOut is a 2006 Angler, 29' center console with plenty of seating and a head. It has all the required Coast Guard equipment and more. Even after one of our 15 hour tuna trips you still do not have the feeling of being crowded. The CopOut also sports twin Yamaha 250's. She can run in the low 50's to get you on the fish quick. When you take a trip with us we have everything you need except for your lunch and drinks (beer is ok with us). We'll send you home with your fish cleaned and packaged by one of our hard working mates. Check out our website for a list of suggestions of things to bring and what not to bring. .

About Us!
Capt. Jeff grew up fishing the waters off of Port Canaveral and has continued to work mainly out of the Port. Along with his family (his wife of 26 years, daughter, and son) he has fished the keys, the west coast and some in the Bahamas. You will find him and his mates family friendly whether it is a hard core fishing trip or just a family excursion. The copout crew is known at the local bait shops as one of the friendliest crews around. They pride themselves on making sure YOU have a great day on the water by customizing your trip to fulfill your every wish.
